Samuel founded Wolfe Street Chambers after leaving the leadership team of New Zealand’s largest litigation practices in 2016.

Since then his independent practice has grown and is currently supported by a team of three barristers, a practice manager, CTO and the office mascot (Peanut the Dachshund).

Samuel Moore 

Samuel is an experienced barrister based in Auckland’s CBD specialising in – Civil & Commercial litigation and advice – Regulatory & Insurance litigation and advice

Samuel’s clients range from large corporates, government entities, private individuals, insurers, and pro-bono clients

Natalie Devery

Since graduating Natalie has been kept busy through her position as Junior Barrister, covering a wide range of legal issues from regulatory crime to family law and everything in between.
She has recently delved into the new jurisdiction of the Criminal Procedure Mental Health Court, which she has found an extremely useful track and great initiative for those affected by mental health conditions.

Her broad ranging position sees her in court on a regular basis and she enjoys the opportunity to get on her feet and advocate in various jurisdictions.

She also has been keeping up her legal research assistance, working with a senior barrister and a Queen’s Counsel.

“I had the amazing opportunity to tap into my passion for human rights when assisting in a junior capacity, on the Royal Commission enquiry into the Christchurch Mosque Attacks.”

More recently she has been seconded to assist in research for a legal text, an interesting opportunity to learn the intricacies of personal guarantees law in New Zealand and other common law jurisdictions.

Lion Yang

Lion specialises in civil and regulatory litigation and commercial crime. Lion currently acts as junior counsel in a wide range of civil and regulatory proceedings.
Prior to joining Wolfe Street Chambers, Lion has worked at a top boutique litigation firm in Auckland as well as extensively for the Legal Complaints Review Officer. 
Lion completed his law degree in 2016 and is currently studying Master of Laws at University of Auckland. Lion also holds a First Class Honours in Economics.

Ginrick Credo

Prior to joining Samuel’s practice, Gin was one of Samuel’s students in the Master of Laws programme at Auckland University of Technology.
Gin’s previous work experience was at Auckland Council and involved customer service, complaints resolution, and social media.
After graduating from AUT with his Masters, Gin was offered an opportunity to join Samuel’s team in June 2021

Jay Best

Jay worked as the Operations Manager for Orcon Internet, as well as managing large operations teams for Franklin Covey, General Motors, Chevron Texaco before moving to Telecom where he managed the Wholesale and Chorus Faults support team. 
The last decade he has worked for various businesses in marketing, product and process design, in a senior management role.

Last October, NZ Lawyer accepted nominations for the 2022 Rising Stars list. The standout young stars from the New Zealand legal profession were invited to put their names forward; those who knew of and wished to highlight such talent were also asked to submit nominations.
